A Message from Mr. Ward, Principal of Sanders Middle School
 
Welcome to Sanders Middle School, home of the "Yellow Jackets!"
 
Welcome to the Sanders Middle School website. We are excited that you have chosen to visit us.  Check for upcoming events and announcements here on our homepage.
 
We are a community-oriented school.  We serve a diverse population among students, faculty, and staff members.  At Sanders, students have the opportunity to participate in a challenging and engaging curriculum.  We make the effort to reach our students through the use of technology throughout the school.  This technology includes a state-of-the-art math classroom called "I Can Learn."  In this class students receive their instruction over the computers with a teacher as the facilitator.  Students are allowed to work at their pace.
 
Another initiative that we have implemented is the Scholastic Read 180 classroom.  We now have three fully equipped classrooms in which students use interactive software to advance their reading levels.  Students also have the opportunity to work with interactive whiteboards in all social studies classrooms and several other classrooms.  The science curriculum offers a variety of hands-on activities for students.  ELA classrooms are equipped with Elmo presentation machines that allow presentations for a variety of materials to enhance the learning experience.
 
Rounding out the Sanders experience are various extracurricular activities for students.  These include athletics as well as academic opportunities.  We are in our second year of the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) initiative.  PBS combined with our outstanding Renaissance program, will have a tremendous impact on our school's climate.
