LDHS CONCERT BANDS
Laurens District 55 High School offers four credited classes of Concert Band for the study of instrumental music. The fall semester features the Band Methods course as an alternative to the Marching Band. In the spring, students choose from three ability-based groups: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and the prestigious Wind Ensemble. The three spring semester ensembles participate in the District 55 Concert Clinic and give an end of the year performance for the community. In addition, the Wind Ensemble has recieved 5 consecutive Superior Ratings in adjudication at the South Carolina Band Directors Association State Concert Festival.
The concert band courses are designed for the study of tone production, technical facility and rhythmic skills.
