Mr. George Ward is the principal of Sanders Middle School. Mr. Ward graduated from Furman University with a degree in Health and Exercise Science. While at Furman, he was a member of the men's basketball team. He also has a masters degree from Furman in Educational Administration and is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Administration at The University of South Carolina.
Mr. Ward taught PE and coached basketball at Laurens District High School before becoming an assistant principal at LDHS. He also served as assistant principal at Wade Hampton High School in Greenville and assistant principal at Gray Court Owings Middle School. He is in his third year as principal of Sanders.
Mr. Ward is a native of Columbia, South Carolina. He is married to Jackie Mack of Winnsboro. They have one daughter, Mackenzie, a student at Gray Court Owings Elementary School.
While not working at Sanders, Mr. Ward enjoys golf, fishing, watching television, and riding his Kawasaki ZX-14.
