Laurens School District 55 has 11 schools including one comprehensive high school, four middle schools and six elementary schools. The district also sponsors the Laurens District 55 Preparatory Academy, an at-risk  program for middle and high school students. Laurens County School District 55 serves approximately 5,600 students. District 55 employs approximately 900 total staff.  Of these, 629 are instructional staff including 445 certified staff members.
