I am honored to serve as interim principal of this fine school. This is my twentieth year in education and my fifteenth in Laurens 55. I have previously held the positions of English teacher, literacy coach, curriculum coordinator and assistant principal. I fiercely love this school and community. To the students of the school, I would encourage you to get involved. Be active in your high school experience. Find an extracurricular club, sport or activity that you enjoy and dive into it. Also be involved in your academics. Know what it takes for you to be successful in your classes and follow through. Never underestimate the power of hard work and determination. My advice to the parents of our students is to be intensely involved in your student’s school experience. Ask about his/her day, attend open house, expect an official grade report from the school at least every four and one-half weeks, and, probably most importantly, know who his/her friends are. Your student needs you just as much now as he/she did in the primary grades. Please know that I expect great things this year for our school as a whole. I am excited about the unlimited potential of our students, faculty and staff. If I can do anything this year to better serve your student, do not hesitate to contact me. GO RAIDERS! Sonya Bryant |
