Mrs. Parton is a 2009 graduate of the South Carolina Program for Alternative Certification for Education, also known as PACE.  In 2000, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Presbyterian College where she majored in Music and minored in Spanish.  While at PC, she was an active member of the PC Choir and Madrigal Singers as a 2nd Soprano.  She was also an active member of the Wind Ensemble and Blue Thunder Pep Band, playing both the clarinet and the tenor saxophone.  Mrs. Parton is originally from Spartanburg, SC.  She is a 1996 graduate of Boiling Springs High School where she participated in the chorus, show choir, marching band, and wind ensemble.  She was a 1994 participant of Brevard Music Camp, as well as a 1996 member of the South Carolina All-State SATB Chorus, which was under the direction of Dr. Eph Ehly.

Prior to teaching in Laurens District 55, Mrs. Parton taught 6th-8th grade chorus and band at the Middle School of Pacolet in Spartanburg District 3 from 2006-2010.  She also assisted with the Broome High School Marching Band in 2006 and 2007. 

Mrs. Parton is a member of the
Music Educators National Conference Choral Division and the South Carolina Band Directors Association.

Mrs. Parton currently resides in Laurens with her husband Bradd, two cats (Otto and Polly), and two dogs (Tuco and Huckleberry).  In her spare time, she loves to read and knit.
