Welcome to Gray Court-Owings Elementary School.  This is our first year combining K4 through 5th Grade.  We have three classrooms in 3rd grade.  My class is in Room 17.  Generally, we try to go on several field trips each year.  Of course, we visit Vulcan, located directly behind our school here in Gray Court.  Other trips include the State House and the State Museum in Columbia, the Joe Adair Center in Laurens, and a performance at the Peace Center in Greenville.  Students also work on building LINX cars and compete with other schools in a race held in May each year.  In addition to the fun trips, third grade also includes a lot of work in class and at home.  Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and is usually reading, language practice, and math problems. Students should read for at least 30 minutes per night.
